The blog meetup was fun, despite a few stumbles. I was especially happy to meet Richard Absolute Piffle Gillman for the first time in RL, after we've been reading each other's stuff for quite a while (Issaquah is so far out there). I had fun talking with his wife Shelly also.

Twelve weblog folks made it to our first location, a very inappropriate Starbucks (too small, too noisy, we blocked the door when we tried to sit as a group), but we moved a few blocks down the road to Salumeria so some hungry folks could get a meal, and two people dropped out along the way. Good: the peach cheescake with gingersnap crust. Bad: forced to sit at a long narrow table so group talk was inhibited, the prices were spendy, and there was a 18 percent tip added on because we were such a large group. We realized afterwards that we should have changed seats musical-chairs-stylee a few times during the meal.

The webloggers sitting at the other end of the table seemed like a fine group, and I hope to get the chance to get to know them at further gatherings. I don't know why none of the Seattle webloggers I've met before showed up, though. I'll also be nominating some different locations.
