What a wonderful day! Only a few glitches in the preparation time in the morning (spilt coffee, forgotten paperwork) but the ceremony happened only a few minutes late. Jack gave me a wonderful surprise during the part where we each made a statement of intentions -- he gave me a dichroic glass pendant on a gold chain! (not by the linked artist) The food was abundant, people danced and enjoyed themselves, the room was beautiful thanks to Jack's family helping to put up the decorations I made, everyone loved the dress, and people were very curious about Roscoe being up on stage with us.

After the ballroom was cleaned up, we went to my sister's house for a gabfest with my visiting sister and cousins, and even made an appearance at Vanguard in the evening.

This event couldn't have happened without the generous, wonderful help of friends and family. Since weddings are about connections in a social world, that's the way it should be. Thanks to Hallie who owns the Century Ballroom, Kate Schaefer who gifted me with making my dress, my sisters who did so many things, my stepdaughters (no longer future) who valiantly cut vegetables while I was being fitted with the dress, Joe Ross my dance friend, landlord, and DJ, and most of all Jack, for finding me, loving me, and wanting to marry me!

Another in what seems to be a year of weblog weddings. Sincere congrats to you and Jack, and here's hoping that "spilt coffee" will be the worst of your worries.

ha! Gary, that's like when they say that they hope the wedding day is the best day of your life. I hope it's the best so far. And it was just grand.
