Here's a case of a fan site going down that saddens and puzzles me. The Metropolitan Opera has put the kibosh on a fan site, Metmaniac, that was a repository for info on Met broadcasts. The site owner collects off-the-air tapes of these -- does he share them? ah, I see. "I love to trade (but I do not sell)." But he doesn't seem to have the recordings available on the site (wayback machine version). No details available on the reason given for the shutdown -- copyrighted words? trademarks?
