11/14/2002 Archived Entry: "Ron Drummond on WTC Memorial"

My friend Ron Drummond (he's active on classical.net) has submitted an idea for a World Trade Center memorial to CNN. "Ideas have been pouring into CNN since we asked those questions, which is not surprising since the public response to the six plans unveiled in July was less than enthusiastic." You can vote on your favorites; more than 3000 have been submitted so far. Says Ron:

"A garden stepping into the sky -- I imagine partially reversing what once was, by creating two wells of empty air surrounded by one building. This new building would be 500 feet wide by 975 feet long, and shaped like a giant staircase rising into the sky. Sunk into this staircase are two wells, precisely where the two towers once stood."
