Much of Northanger Abbey is set in the city of Bath, long a spa because of the natural hot springs there. Cheryl posted some historical resources for that city: Rowlandson's humorous caricature series "The Comforts of Bath" depicting the activities of a vistor who has come to take the waters, Bathweb, and photographs of 18th Century Bath today.
