04/17/2003 Archived Entry: "Me and the Camel Girl at the April Meetup"

We had a good weblog meetup last night. We started at the Aurafice Cafe, but moved down the hill to Bauhaus Books and Coffee after about an hour. Aurafice is small, and there was a knitting meetup scheduled plus their normal Wednesday SeaGoth crowd. Aurafice was into us, though, and helpfully had a bunch of big sticky notes with the meetup graphic. Cat returned the bridal veil I'd lent her for the Brides of March last month, so we took turns wearing it as we walked down the street. TYD took this intriguing picture of me -- I knew that Camel Girl in the poster would match up just right with my head height.

We had a good time chatting. New to the meetup was Clark "Misc" Humphrey, who carefully wrote down every URL that was mentioned. Also making a guest appearance was Jake's cousin Gavin, shown here posing beside a cool Capitol Hill ninja-mural.

one of these days I'll make it up there - I almost went when last month's meeting was during my vacation, but something else intervened. :(

Yes, Jerry, we'd have liked to get a picture of you in that wedding veil!
