04/19/2003 Archived Entry: "Bath Assembly Room Ball 2003"
There were lots of scenes in the movie Persuasion set and filmed in the historical city of Bath. We saw the pump room several times, but there wasn't a dance at the Assembly Rooms as part of the story. They did do an historical reenactment ball this year, documented by "a little danish gentleman", with most attendees dressed in 1750s to 1790s. A few were Regency-attired. I think that the costume folk must have outnumbered the historical dance aficionados, since the actual dance floor seems underpopulated (large image).
The details on his own embroidered suit are amazing!

He looked quite dashing! Even Sir Walter Elliot would have approved. ;-)
