Jack and I did go see Finding Nemo last night, at a Celebration! Cinema. The multiplex (includes an Imax screen) is almost too visually stimulating -- lots of neon, video screens all over the lobby, bright lights, very crowded. They had those special foam theater seats that mold to your behind in a pneumatic way, which is startling if you aren't expecting it. We both liked the movie a lot! Jacob Metcalf has a review.
Then, in search of ice cream (the mixery or whatever it was right there in the theater complex was too crowded, of course), we drove to the Woodland Mall and ended up buying me gifts. Jack insisted I choose something so I ended up with DVDs of The Harvey Girls and Much Ado About Nothing. Both are movies that I'm very fond of but Jack has no interest in. We would also have stopped at the Yankee Candle store but they closed before we got there. We did get ice cream cones, though, from a TCBY Yogurt place that was also a pretzel stand and featured Mrs. Field's brand ice cream. The vagaries of the mall food court. The mall itself was one of the more elegant ones I've seen, decorated in Frank Lloyd Wright style like the one I saw when visiting Jack a few months ago in Lansing.
