11/03/2003 Archived Entry: "Julie Leung on Exploring the Matrix"

Julie Leung reviews a collection of essays on the Matrix, by science fiction writers, called Exploring the Matrix: Visions of the Cyber Present. Sounds interesting! She's included quotes from most of the contributers in her post. "The Matrix as Sci-Fi by Joe Haldeman taught me the difference between science fiction, Sci-fi, fantasy and 'respectable literature' (nice diagram!)"

I get an interesting perspective by reading both Julie's weblog and that of her husband Ted Leung (mostly tech with a few personal posts). I wonder what impressions folks get if they read both me and Jack?

Cool! And I have added Ted to my blogroll now...

Glad to provide you with a blog topic! I know there are other webloggers who are coupled -- megnut and kottke for example. Teresa Nielsen Hayden and Patrick Nielsen Hayden also. Dori Smith and Tom Negrino both post to Backup Brain.

About family members getting info from weblogs, I know my sister in Delaware really preferred it when I was more diligent about writing my journal. She does follow my weblog, though.

Thanks, Anita. I hope you get a chance to read the book. It's a fun one and I think you might like it!

I'll try to read Jack's more often. It is interesting and fun to read blogs from both sides of a marriage. Here's my post from yesterday: His and Her Blogs
