11/18/2003 Archived Entry: "Danelope on Red Berries Special K"

Danelope really likes Special K Red Berries cereal! He does find it rather emasculating, though. Are the red berries only dried strawberries? I hoped they included some cranberries and raspberries, too. I guess dried cherries wouldn't exactly fit the "berry" part of it. Says Danelope, "Between its bright pink motif, prominent photographs of female celebrities, and Kellogg's breast cancer awareness promotion, purchasing Special K seems roughly comparable to picking up a box of Tampax Crunch or Gyne-Lotrimueslix, as if I've committed some unspeakable act by merely suggesting the purchase."

They should include trashy romance novels as a pack in prize.

I don't have a problem with "straw" but I like other berries better, esp when dried. I think of "red" like in "red flavor" for some odd mixed fruit candy or soda -- unidentifiable!

maybe emasculate is a word you don't want to be too familiar with.

1. Nah, it's just strawberries, which is why I'm confused about Kellogg's use of the descriptor "red berries". Is the word straw offensive to women in some capacity of which I am unaware?

2. After 1:00am, all pretense of proper spelling is right out.

3. I'm going to leave it there just to spite you. <grin>
