From ajhalluk: "the more I thought, the more the spatchcocked woman - ie, the female character bolted into a story to add something the producer/editor/author guiltily thought they should put in, but without any solid purpose or pleasure in doing so - started to appear all over the place." An entertaining essay about women characters sometimes being shoehorned in.
