06/22/2004 Entry: "Geek Dinner Report"

We had a good time at the Geek Dinner last night. I met Todd Bishop of the PI, whom I encouraged in blogging back when he was just starting. I didn't get to talk much with Jason Anderson but Jack did some frank discussion with him about dogfooding. Steve Maine has details on the demo that happened after dinner, where the new Team System stuff was shown off (Jack and I didn't attend this part of the evening). Also present: Dana Epps, Scott Koon, Dan Alvarez, Randy Holloway, and more. Dennis was thrown into the deep end of tech blog talk, I think!

I really enjoyed knitting with Raymond Chen. He's still working on the sweater he was doing last February. I finished off a tam I made for Jack, and worked on a seaman's scarf that matches (basket weave on the ends, a ribbed section in the middle, using Takhi Donegal Tweed in grey, navy and cobalt). Josh Ledgard and Gretchen Ledgard arrived late with JP Stewart; we didn't get to talk long but Gretchen invited me to send my resume.
