For once we actually have some canned food that is listed in a big food recall and needs to be returned: Cattle Drive Chili made by Castleberry, in an eight-pack of cans from Costco. I was surprised! We bought the food not too long ago but I guess it was before the recall was extended from the orginal ten or so products. So check your cupboards and pantries. The key thing to look for is "EST. 195" in the numbers on the can.

My blog name-sharer, Anita Bora (I've mentioned her before), has been taking lots of gorgeous photos on her travels through India. Check out this visit to Mawlynnong where she stayed at a house on stilts. Her most recent trip was to Sultanpet where potters were photographed.

Tonight, July 18, it's the Seattle Weblog Meetup! Start time is 7 pm, location is Ralph's Grocery and Deli, 2035 4th Ave, in Seattle's Belltown neighborhood, diagonally across from the Cinerama. Free WiFi, food and drink available (you can buy anything in the store and consume it in the deli area, so that includes wine and beer if you want). Local and visiting webloggers talk about blog topics and lots else. Maybe you can play with Jack's new iPhone! I hope to see you there! Parking can be tight in the neighborhood but I usually find a space on Sixth or pay to park in the Warwick Hotel garage across the street for six bucks.

For the past two summers Grandson R and I have participated in a free summer park program run by the city of Redmond (last year's entry). The Fun Factory is a trailer that comes around to various city parks. The camp counselors do crafts, organize games, and make lots of fun stuff happen for a wide range of kids, and it's free! They've got tons of equipment in the trailer so they can adapt to the kids that show up. We'll be at Cascade View Neighborhood Park on Thursday afternoons, starting at 1:00 pm. (Note: bring water!)

Gah! I was trying to find out more about the Upside Down Show (Wikipedia page) and found out that Nickelodeon has declined a second season! It's a really funny kids show that stars an Australian comedy duo, The Umbilical Brothers (wikipedia page) David Collins and Shane Dundas. Both my grandson and I really enjoy the show. They combine slapstick, puppets, mime, sound effects, and more in a unique comedy blend. I guess we'll look for the DVDs from the Umbilical Brothers (but that material isn't particularly aimed at kids).
