RTW = Release To Web

The beginning of an acquaintance whether with persons or things is to get a definite outline of our ignorance. -- George Eliot, 1976

I think tonight is the night I will actually post this journal. Is it cheating to write a few entries ahead of time? It gives me the chance to tweak the design and navigation.

Yesterday after the movie I stopped at a record store on Broadway. I bought CDs for listening to at work, thereby turning my second PC into a very expensive CD player. Having music playing does help with concentrating. The used CDs were a great value: Frederica von Stade singing Songs of the Auvergne, the Boston Camerata with American hymns from 1850 to 1870, each for three dollars!

I also bought the soundtrack for Austin Powers, new. Very catchy tunes, including Incense and Peppermints and I Touch Myself.

Things I really ought to do before the film festival starts this friday:

Today I worked on an FAQ for the T-----, an internal mailing list for people who are either hosting the product I am working on or writing code that will use some of our great features. The FAQ was put together by someone else, so I went over it to make it pretty, clean up some typos, and note where information is unclear out of context, or just missing altogther. It often turns out that way when an FAQ is constructed out of email messages. Someone wrote "I am checking in these changes [in code] tomorrow" and later we don't know who "I" was or what date "tomorrow" was.

So what I did was one part coding and one part editing.
