Film as dream, film as music. No art passes our conscience in the way film does, and goes directly to our feelings, deep down into the dark rooms of our souls.

Today was the first time I participated in a usability study as a subject, rather than sitting on the other side of the glass watching. Unfortunately, they weren't specific enough about what they were going to be testing, so for part of the test I was anything but a naive user! I hope they will be able to discount that part of that test and still use the rest.
As a gratuity for helping with the test, I got to pick a piece of Microsoft software. I selected Visual Interdev, which contains Microsoft Image Composer. That's an image editing and creating program that I really like, but which isn't available separately. I may not get time to install it till after the film festival is over.
The first regular shows of the festival were tonight, as opposed to the Opening Night Gala that I usually don't go to. We went to the Harvard Exit Theater. It's an older building that was originally a women's club, so there are really nice lounges and lobbies in addition to the large auditorium and small auditorium. This makes it nice when we have time to wait in between shows. There is even a cool balcony, which is often A----'s preferred seat location.
Movies seen for Friday, May 16, 1997:
Then a walk past the Cornish Art School and down to the Bullit house where my car was parked. It is possible to walk from my place to the Harvard Exit, but if I'm coming from work it's better to park "near" the theater. Is four or five long blocks near?
