Traveling

In America there are two classes of travel -- first class and with children.

I went to my sister's house in the morning, and left my car parked there. We stopped on the way to the airport to pick up my nephew J---, who had been sleeping over at a friend's house. His mother went in to get him, and my younger nephew B----- and I stayed in the car. We saw him running around in the yard, then we were amazed to see him *taking off his clothes*! He was still wearing his pajamas, which were indistinguishable to us from his daytime clothes, and he thought that it would be less of a hassle to change out there rather than with the other children inside. My nephew B---- and I were howling with laughter and surprise as we sat in the car watching.

Then off to the airport and on our flight. The boys were very patient, and the flight was non-stop, so it went OK. If you look in the dictionary under "lame", is there a picture of an in-flight movie? It seems like the movie is never one that I wanted to see in the slightest. But we did get free headphones, because we were sitting in the very last row of the plane and the airline wants to make it up to those sitting there that those seats can't recline.

My sister B---- was there to pick us up at the airport, with a super-large van that she has rented for the week. With this vehicle we will be able to go on excursions and expeditions without hassling with two cars.

The only thing that fazes my young nephew B----- is dogs, but unfortunately my sister has a yellow lab. His reaction is rather curious. If the dog is a certain distance away, he just says in a rather flat voice, "I'm scared of him!" If the dog happens to come closer, B----- runs away crying a little bit, but recovers immediately. This happens over and over.

After a dinner of rotini and meatballs, we went swimming in the pool. This pool is a replacement for the pool B--- had when I was last here, and is spectacular. It's great to have in this eastern heat and humidity; B---- is making a concession to the Seattlites and allowing a little more use of the AC than she would be normally.
