Thursday, September 4, 1997 My friend Wally Glenn just got back from Burning Man. Wally has a weekly cable access TV show, which usually consists of him and his friend Dave chit-chatting about various topics of local interest. This week it was all Wally, all the time, for the full half hour, showing his Burning Man video. He must have worked like a dog to get the material that he shot in the Nevada Desert in to shape to show it on his show tonight. Great stuff! Looks like he had a great time, and got great footage, and fit in well with the Artists' Republic of Fremont. His show, Don't Quote Me on That, is fun! The current time slot is right opposite ER, and follows Bong Hit Championships 97, so he gets some "interesting" calls. Would I go to Burning Man some year? I might, if I felt comfortable with the arrangements. I do know people who have gone. But I really don't do well in the heat. Wally looked like he got fried on the show tonight. My friend Luke has also been involved with the Fremont folks. Since I've done a lot of things because he has done them, if he were going and was putting a group together, I might help out. Or maybe we will have an official contingent from the Seattle Cacophony Society someday, since the whole thing started out as an SF Cacophony thing anyway.
This has been my week for getting egoboo! Even if Ray called me Satan, I'm sure he meant it in a good way. Carl actually read my diary from the very beginning, and sent me a very nice note this morning. Ceej credited me for having extensive mail archives, so I can forward useless humor mail when the occasion calls for it. Liralen appreciated the quote that is currently on my diary index page and allowed as how I turned her on to CSS. I'm really pleased about that. I can look back and see that I've been pushing CSS for quite a while, since last year. Scott and Lance know that I am relentless, like dripping water wearing away the stone.
