I did call my sister tonight, as soon as I got home from work. She urged me to get a second phone line, which isn't a bad idea. But I don't get that many calls, even when I'm not online!
The streets were slushy in the morning. It had been raining all night, so the snow just melted away. I still felt nervous enough to take the bus to work.
There is a new dev on the team, who mentioned the magic words "swing dance" in the mail introducing himself that gets sent around in your first few days on the job. He's new to Seattle, so I get to recruit him to join my dance activities! Yay!

I really wish now that I had started work earlier on the print piece I am working on. It will be really nice to be able to hand it out at Potlatch this weekend, but I'm feeling the pressure since I want it to be good, and to look good! But I also need to get ready for the programming item I'll be moderating, and I need to pack, and I have a dance thing Wednesday evening that I want to go to.
I had the brainstorm this evening of FTP'ing the file to my site, then FTP'ing it to my work machine. That way I'll be able to work on it between the time I'm finished at work and the time the dance lesson starts (Nightclub Two-step). I also realized that I could just print out originals Thursday morning, and take them with me and have them printed up in Oakland during the day on Friday. I'd rather spend a bit more and get it done, than stick to fannish tradition and do all folding, collating and stapling myself.

Have you seen the BuzzPhraser? This is a web interface to a little goodie worked up by Doc Searls a few years ago. Funny!
