Relieved

A car can massage organs which no masseur can reach. It is the one remedy for the disorders of the great sympathetic nervous system.

My team website was acting up all day, so I had to temporarily disable the cool pages that show the status of our team tasks, through IE's databinding capabilities. I also went through my buglist. My bugs are external sites that have problem HTML, and I get to convince them that they really should correct the problem. Most people are happy to hear from us, but some are anti-MS by definition.

I was in a quandary driving home. My car has been lurching and shuddering a bit. I was concerned that there was a problem with the transmission, since I replaced it last summer. But I needed to stop by my sister's house and pick up the clothes she had washed for me. Should I drive directly to the Texaco station? What would I wear this weekend? What about dance class? What if they wanted to keep the car? How would I get around for the next few days?

I decided to risk it. I drove to my sister's and picked up the laundry, then dropped it off at my place. I then went to the gas station and told the nice man my symptoms (I mean my car's symptoms). He suggested we take a ride (him driving) so he could diagnose the problems. We drove through the back streets of Capitol Hill, admiring the flowering cherries and other spring flowers, then made our way up the hill. Putting the car under load was a way to induce the problems.

Joy! He recommended that what the car needs is a tuneup, and that it can wait till Monday!

So I was able to go to dance class with a light heart. There is a new Tully's Coffe on the same block as the dance studio (in the old Surrogate Hostess location, for those familiar with Seattle), so I thought I'd see if they had any food items suitable for my dinner. The sandwiches were tempting but seemed overpriced, but the chop salad I got was a great value and good! I ate it inside the dance studio, and our teacher Chris was very happy to have this new food resource pointed out to him. He immediately walked down there himself and got a salad.

I was very pleased to see my friend Jon Newman at the beginning lindy class! He isn't sure he'll be able to make all the classes -- Indeed, he already missed the first one -- but the activity is a good one for him. It's a change from sitting at a desk all day! I am always pleased when people take my suggestions.

In web notes: Jason has changed the image on his page to something quite Rousseau-esque!

If you are a Tripod member, you can send an email peep! I have to say, the peep stories collected on this site are funny. My favorite peep activity is peep jousting: take two peeps, and mark one with food coloring so you can distinguish them; stick toothpicks in both peeps, then place them in the microwave and turn it on. The winner is the one that pops the other one!
