Thursday, April 2, 1998 It's late and I'm tired, but I do want to write tonight. I was at dance class at the Russian Center. I'm only taking the intermediate level lindy class this time around. In the last session I was taking the beginning class as well. After class, Dan Ross, Zola, Jon Newman and I walked up to Olympic Pizza on 15th Avenue and had dinner, then walked back for the dance. I do like being part of the group! When it was ten o'clock, I asked Dan to give me a ride home. The reason: I wanted to get home in time to see Wally's show, Don't Quote Me On This. His topic tonight was the same thing he talked about in his journal today: Road Rage Strikes at Wally. Quite a story! In our phone chat today, we talked about the fact that Al Schroeder left Wally off his parody list of "favorite" journals but included me. Wally wrote a very funny complaint letter to Al, vilifying me in the process. Maybe he'll post it later.
I was looking for something to write about, since not too much happened externally except some yahoo email from someone with an obscene login. I went to a link I had saved in my inbox since December. Of course, I got the big old Geocities error page. So I went up a level to see if the journal had moved, or renamed the files, or what. I was surprised: the link (for a page of journal writing ideas) had come from Lynda Bustilloz of Parenthesis! I'm reading her now, but I wasn't then. But by the time it came to pick an idea and be inspired, I was too fatigued.
I remembered the joke in Gilbert and Sullivan's Pirates of Penzance that I never get tired of. It makes me laugh every time when Mabel sings (and Frederick with her in a duet) that she will be true to her vows, till she is wed, and even after! Noble girl!
