Don't forget to read about my evening with fellow journaler Darren Holloway on Friday, and my trip to Norwescon with Jason on Saturday! (I say this because I know sometimes people only read the most recent entry, but you might miss the best parts that way!)

I hauled myself out of bed this morning. I had been up later than I wanted the night before, because after I got home from seeing Jason, I had trouble getting my contacts out! I gave a quick look around for my super-soaker water gun, but I couldn't find it! So I went over to my sister's house and went to Mass with her family.

Their parish, St. Therese, is a very nice place. I like what they do with their liturgy, and the way the parish is organized. It also has the advantage of being an easy walk away from my sister's house! Unfortunately, we were a few minutes too late to be able to all sit together; we took turns sitting in the seats we had. My nephews, even J--- who is seven, are a bit too young to sit patiently through the whole thing, so my brother-in-law took the older one out after Mass was two-thirds done.

After Mass, I came back home to work on my journal, and look again for my water gun! I needed this for a Cacophony event! Fortunately it was just hiding under something, and hadn't disappeared permanently.

The Great Easter Bunny Hunt was dreamed up by Nick Fraser. We would take turns wearing the bunny ears and be hunted down with water guns by the rest of the group. When my nephew J--- and I arrived at the pig statue at Pike Place Market, Darren Holloway was waiting to return the box of floppy discs I bought Friday night and forgot in his backpack. I had hoped he would join in the game, but he felt that this wasn't wise when he was traveling so light that he'd have no clothes to change into upon being soaked. (As it turned out, no one got as wet as all that! ) So we said goodbye again, and on with the game!

We took turns being the bunny, and I got to go first. I had 30 seconds to get out of sight of the hunters before the hunt began (they had their eyes closed during this time), and then ten minutes to get back to base, that is, the pig statue, without getting squirted. Off I ran, feeling rather conspicuous because of the bunny ears. I had declined the bunny tail. Up and around the corner, then down to the market. I worked my way back to base by hiding behind the parked cars on the market side of the street, and succeeded in getting to the pig before being spotted.

Nick was next up. J-- and I teamed up to hunt him, and got him in a pincers move, with one of us on each side of him. There was no escape! Tom took the last turn, and succeeded in eluding us when my nephew didn't want to wait at the spot where I picked, where one of us could watch the alley and the other the street.

We went for a snack. Another successful Cacophony event! I liked this tag variation. It was surprisingly suspenseful!

My nephew and I met up with the rest of the family for Easter dinner at the house of a lifelong friend of my brother-in-law's. My brother-in-law, Q--- (the friend) and another guy are in an Irish band together. There were other friends there too, such as A--- my film festival buddy, and Father T---.

Dinner was good, with ham, Minnesota hot dish, salad, fruit salad, and ice cream! When I started dozing off on the couch, I decided to come home. It's been a great weekend, but rather tiring!
