Not Hiding

I want you to know that I am hiding something from you, that is the active paradox I must resolve: at one and the same time it must be known and not known: I want you to know that I don't want to show my feelings: that is the message I address to the other.

I was up late last night, so I was so drowsy today that I came home early and took a nap!

But I knew I had to wake up and work on my RC art car. I gave the body a coat of clear acrylic spray, fastened it onto the chassis again, then hot-glued some large spangle sequins around the lower edge of the body. I put a clear crystal bead in the center of each spangle, some of the beads that I got from Rhonda at the yard sale a few weeks ago.

I still wouldn't call the car finished, but it's presentable enough to show on TV! We are going to be on Wally's cable access show, Don't Quote Me on This, on Thursday night. Look for us if you are in the Seattle area: ten pm, probably on channel 29 if your cable system resembles mine.

During all this, I was listening and watching the Ingmar Bergman Magic Flute. I do love that version of the opera. I like things that have multiple layers; the theatrical presentation depicted is a variation of some of the themes of the opera. The performers are in character and out of character at the same time.

There was some discussion tonight on the diary-l list, along with the usually flames and sniping, about writing things in a journal and having them commented out, so they would only be visible if the reader viewed the source code for the page. I've never done that, but I did hide some content in a non-linked page in the first week after Jason broke up with me. He was the only one whom I didn't want to see it, at that time. I sent mail to a few folks that I thought might be interested, pointing them to the page. He has since read that page, so I could go back and either link it in, or move what I wrote to the entry for that day. But I think I'll leave it as it is. If you are interested, write me for the URL.

I've started thinking about next month's design. May is the anniversary month of this journal! But I don't know if I want to play that up for the whole month, or just on the year-day. My process starts by poking around and playing with fonts in Image composer, and exploring the humongous image archive that I bought at Costco a while back. I don't have a particular picture or theme or design in mind yet, but doubtless something will come to me in the next few days.
