Missed a Meeting

An apology? Bah! Disgusting! Cowardly! Beneath the dignity of any gentleman, however wrong he might be.

Because I was so drowsy yesterday, I went home early. No problem there, but I didn't check my calendar before I left. I totally forgot that I had a meeting scheduled, a one-on-one with someone in another group! How humiliating! Nothing to do but apologize abjectly and reschedule at his convenience. Darn it! And then my manager told me that she and her boss had had to ditch a meeting with the same guy! So I made sure to let him know how bad I felt.

So we rescheduled the meeting for today. The guy I was meeting with works in another building, in the oldest part of the Microsoft campus. Luke has said that the campus has growth rings! From the earliest, oldest cluster, to the next row, to the newest buildings, you can trace the growth of Microsoft and the changes in office building design, all over the last ten years. I walked over through the mature, mixed evergreen-deciduous forest that still a part of the campus. It was warm, no breeze, with the most wonderful balsam fragrance in the air.

W--- and I shared information and plans about external sites, internal sites and evangelizing IE. He's the owner for this in another group. He is new in his job and wasn't around for IE4, so we talked about how things were last year.

Tonight was the last night for a while that Monty Banks and the High Rollers will be playing at the Century Ballroom, so there were lots of folks there. I did get to dance with all my favorite partners, which is good. Even Sterling was there, with fake ID I suppose, since he is under age.
