DINO MARTINIS
Monday, May 18, 1998
I skipped the Win98 shipping celebration, since I don't feel like I've been involved in that product. There was supposed to be a big picnic and party on the sports field on campus, but I didn't see it since I left campus the other way.
I stopped at the Fred Meyer store on Broadway, on my way home. I needed new tights, so I got several pairs, and also some little shorts to wear under my dress when dancing. I was pleased that the XL size fit! I got one navy blue, and one of a turquoise geometric print that will coordinate with one of the dresses I got Saturday. All this buying isn't my normal pattern, I swear!
It's the peak time for the rhododendrons in Seattle now. The Pacific Northwest is a good place for that type of plant. The rhododendron gardens at the Weyerhauser headquarters are a real showplace!

D'oh! I forgot to update the "latest" link on my journal index page, even though I posted three new entries! And no one wrote to tell me until tonight, when Kate kindly informed me of my error. Even the net nag isn't perfect, you know!
So now I need to go ahead and finish this, when I'd rather just go to sleep! (Another special list of entries: those composed when the author was very, very tired!)
Since I'll be dancing much less during the film festival in the next few weeks, and the band at the Fenix Aboveground got a very good testimonial from Theo on the swing-seattle-chat mailing list, I decided to go out dancing again tonight.
I wore my turquoise dress and little shorts, as described above. Lucky for me, there wasn't a home baseball game tonight, so I was able to find a parking place without any trouble. I chatted with Doug (I've been dancing with Doug for months, but only found out his name last night. I hope that writing it down will heip me remember it!) while the lesson was going on. We were up in the balcony, looking down on the tiny dance floor.
I danced with Doug, Joe Ross, Dan Ross, Hugh, Hyper Dan, and various other folks. The band was indeed fun! They were called The Dino Martinis, and I liked their style!
