Joining the Ring

I have always wanted a mistress who was fat, and I have never found one. To make a fool of me, they are always pregnant.

One year ago: The Submerged Truth

My day a year ago was a pleasant one! Reading books by favorite authors, eating a favorite snack, enjoying the summer weather. I still have a problem with cleaning and taking out the trash. I've been reading the alt.recovery.clutter newsgroup for inspiration. If I read "just do one thing every day" often enough, it may sink in!

I've joined a new-ish fat-acceptance oriented mailing list. It's really a chat list, though, so I haven't decided yet if I'll enjoy it or not. I'm on a chat list related to the romance readers list, and I mostly delete that unread. The swing-seattle-chat list isn't really high-traffic at all, and the content there is really isn't very chatty. But I'll give this a try. I like the name of the related website: GenerousCity!

I updated and slightly reformatted my photos page. This was by request of S---, who went to dinner with me once and then wrote what someone called a "Take her away, Boys!" essay about it. He has since found a relationship, but still reads my stuff, which is nice. He sends me web links, and as I said, bugged me to update the photo index which did really need it.

[ Net Nag Approved: Dave Van ]I'm glad that Dave Van is back writing again. He talks in this entry about some things that he did as a kid that he regrets now. Good stuff! A childish misdeed that I wish I hadn't committed: I actually put a tack on a girl's chair, and let her sit down on it! I didn't have anything against her; I just wanted to see what would happen! I wondered if it would be like a cartoon. I was in third grade, I think. I admitted it and apologized immediately. I don't remember her as being angry -- more like stunned and baffled! Did she tell on me? Memory draws a blank.

Jason and AnitaAfter a wait of a few weeks on the queue, my former boyfriend Jason is finally a member of Open Pages! So that makes four journalers that I count as either starting a journal, or joining OP due to my urging: Rob Hudson, Wally Glenn, Luke McGuff, and Jason "Jericho" Brown. All were writing before, of course, but I bugged them either suggested that they could repurpose the writing that they were already doing, or (Luke) inspired them by example, and by constantly recommending other journals to read.

Jason hasn't explained to me all his reasons for starting a journal. Ceej finds it to be good writing warm-up, and he is an aspiring writer. Anyway, go check his latest, and give him some feedback!
