Dialing Up

Most of the change we think we see in life
Is due to truths being in and out of favor.

One year ago: Dancing and Housework

Be sure and catch up with the weekend entry, where I attempt to go hear Indigo Swing, twice!

I took my bowl of candy to our group program manager meeting today. Sometimes I do this and people don't eat it, but today they did. Those miniature Hershey bars in fall colors are just so cute! Doing my bit for team morale.

I had a short meeting with a manager in our larger group. Someone is leaving, and after we ship our next beta release, I'll probably take over that person's duties. I hope I'll be able to use the opportunity to learn a bunch of new tech stuff! And the site needs to be revamped, and reorganized, and the team site I take care of now will be merged in. Lots of challenges; but I also like what I'm doing with the SDK team, and I'm just getting to know enough to be useful there! What to do?

The internal tool I've been waiting for had its last few problems solved, so I stayed late to try and get a bunch of files processed. I was listening to my new Indigo Swing CD. I didn't realize that so many of their songs were original to them! We dance to them every week.

When I got home, I was finally able to dial up to the net. So I had bunches of journals to catch up on -- what a treat! I'd been doing some reading from the office, but I don't have the same set of favorites on my machine there. I was also able to get several days worth of the mail I'd decided not to delete from the server, down on to my home machine. Now I'll actually be able to respond to some of it. I answer top-priority personal mail right away, but there is some list mail that I wanted to give a considered reading before writing a response.
