Laundry

Ours is the century of enforced travel... of disappearances. The century of people helplessly seeing others, who were close to them, disappear over the horizon.

One year ago: Fast, Cheap

This was my day for getting things done at home. I did laundry (impeded by the circumstance of only one dryer being operable), put odd socks in a sack, and cleared out a few drawers. I put some clothes that I know I'll never wear again in a bag to be donated.

I put the clean clothes on my bed, so I'll be forced to put them away before I go to sleep. No fair just moving the stack to the floor!

How annoying! I was a few minutes late going to check on my laundry, and a neighbor had taken my load out of the dryer, though it wasn't completely dry, and put her own things in! Normally she is much more considerate than this. So I had to wait until her clothes are dry to put my damp clothes back in, darn it!

In a rare instance of actual cooking taking place in my kitchen, I made noodles with pesto sauce tonight. I did the whole package, so I'll be eating it for the next few days. Every year I want to buy a whole case of fresh basil and do mass production for pesto, but I need to get a new freezer first.

I worked on my con report off and on all day. I'm still not done! But Friday and Saturday are there in fairly good detail. Vicki and Lucy have posted their take on the proceedings already. Liralen was there as well, but hasn't posted as of this writing.

I sent Jack the link to sff.net last night, in the course of sending him URLs for the people we met this weekend. He'd been meaning to open an account there, so I included the link where they let you sign up online. Tonight he wrote me that he has an account, a webpage (still rudimentary) and a newsgroup! So you could post in the newsgroup and say hi to him!

What a strange incident, the bolting off of Kim Rollins! Her net buddy Rob has archived her last entry. When folks do these sudden life changes, well, it just wouldn't be for me. I'm glad she's been in contact with someone, at least. It's always saddening and uncomfortable when web pages just disappear.
