Back to WorkAn involuntary return to the point of departure is, without doubt, the most disturbing of all journeys. Tuesday, November 17, 1998 My Orycon report is complete, with entries on Friday and Saturday, and an updated entry for Sunday. Pictures, too, so check it out!
Back to work today! I spent the morning digging through email, getting caught up on what was happening while I was away. My InetSDK manager is away for the next two weeks, so we had our group meeting without him. The Cacophony meeting was nice and low-key. Wally needs to make plans for the 1998 Seattle In-Santa-cide, or Santa Rampage, or whatever he wants to call it this time.
So, everyone is still talking about Kim Rollins taking off. Her former fiancé is starting his own journal! I even sent him sympathy mail. What he is writing about is certainly riveting! As Michael Rawdon described this whole thing, it's a car wreck. Who could look away?
I'm concerned about the trend at Two-tone Tuesday. There is a distinct lack of the lindy crowd there, and the management of the facility leaves a lot to be desired. The two young girls who were working (the owner was nowhere in evidence) refused to give folks water at first, because the dishwasher was broken! So espresso drinks were equally out of the question. They just put cans of soda out on the counter for folks to pick up. But it's water that dancers need, so Jen Paur went across the street to the store and bought some paper cups. This shouldn't have taken a customer to figure out! I had fun dancing, of course, but I did leave relatively early. |
