Some Guys

Separation penetrates the disappearing person like a pigment and steeps him in gentle radiance.
-- Walter Benjamin

I worked some extra hours tonight, since I'm sure I won't be able to do so later this week. I have plans for tomorrow, a dance workshop on Wednesday, and dance class on Thursday. There's dance stuff happening this weekend too, along with a possible In-Santa-cide event, a party at my sister's house, and a holiday party at a coworker's place. Of course, some of these events are entirely optional, and some are required. There's even a solstice feast next Monday night, which I really enjoyed last year.

There aren't many things on TV now that I'll make an effort to see. So I hadn't picked up the news yet, that NBC has rearranged their Monday schedule. This meant that when I turned on the TV, the show I wanted to see, Caroline in the City, was just ending! I've a special fondness for Malcolm Gets. I like him as an actor, and I enjoy the character he plays (probably for the same reason I had a big crush on Spock as an eleven-year-old).

I've been exchanging email with Bill of Man Out of Time. He's a Seattle journaler that I haven't met yet, though he works for NWNexus, my ISP. I've been reading him for a few months. He's now interested in CSS, which I've been an advocate of for several years, so I gave him a few web pointers.

Continuing with the Seattle Journal theme, I broke down today and called Wally on the phone! It had been so long since he'd updated or we'd communicated otherwise, that I was worried about him! He's looking for a new place to live (no more parties in that great room in his building, too bad!) and looking for work, and has been busy with Artists' Republic of Fremont stuff. So he probably won't coordinate the Santa activities this weekend. I hope he does; we need his energy!
