DocumentingPublicity in women is detestable. Anonymity runs in their blood. The desire to be veiled still possesses them. They are not even now as concerned about the health of their fame as men are, and, speaking generally, will pass a tombstone or a signpost without feeling an irresistible desire to cut their names on it. I worked late again, using the web-based tool developed by G---, a team member who's been out with visa problems the past few weeks. Thank heaven he's back! He's very clever and dedicated. In fact, the tasks I'm doing were ones I delayed until he got back. Good thing, too; there was a slight bug in the tool that he had to fix as soon as he returned to work. So I'm writing this at work, because even at seven thirty at night, the dang traffic is still messed up! There was some discussion in the singles public folder about an item in the Lifestyles section of the Seattle Times. They are looking for some single folks to have their dating adventures documented for a year. The person who posted the info said, "That sounds absolutely mortifying to me. First, thousands of readers know your business. Second, I could see something like that driving a relationship to ruins that would not have otherwise gone there." I followed up: "I don't have that many readers, but as many people as want to can follow my adventures, dating or otherwise." I do see a difference between documenting my own life and having someone else follow me around and record me, though.
Page Two is updated, after an hiatus that lasted longer than the author planned, I'm sure! I'd pretty much given up. I do enjoy Eileen's writing -- she writes about what she's reading, thinking, and feeling very compellingly. I had dinner with the developers tonight, Indian food, spicy and good. We are still being served food every night. I like eating with the group; I wish we ate lunch together more often. I should emulate my former manager and go down the hall, gathering a group together, calling, "Lunch? who wants to go to lunch?" |
