One year ago: Reading
Good news! A----, Jack's daughter, is now at her mom's house. Jack didn't yet know the details of where she's been for the last week when we talked on the phone just now, but I'm sure he'll make it his business to find out. What a relief!
I changed into dance clothes before class tonight, chopping off a new skirt so it would be short enough. I bought it at Value Village the other day, without trying on, and I probably should have tried it on -- it's a bit tight! I don't think the size on the sewn-in label was accurate. It was wearable, though, and I like the print: tiny jewel-toned squares on a maroon background. Kind of a stained-glass effect!
Tonight was the last class of the session for the Savoy Swing Club classes I've been taking. I'd been looking at the schedule for the next six weeks. I want to be in the intermediate level! So I talked to my instructors, Winn and Stacey, to make sure that would be OK. Winn said sure, so long as I felt comfortable with the material, and I do. So next week, a new class and instructors I've never had before!
I had a good time at the Washington Dance Club! I arrived a few minutes before the lessons ended, and there were a few extra leads, so I stepped in for the last bit of the class. When the dance began, I was actually asked to dance by several people, which is always a bonus. The crowds there are definitely increasing. I wouldn't want to see it get much busier, but the promoter of the event might have other ideas. It's nice that people notice if I haven't been around for a few days, and ask where I've been. I asked one of the beginners to dance, and he did pretty well. I told him to be sure and ask someone to dance, but he said later that he hadn't. It's true that you can observe a lot just by looking, but you also have to get out on the floor!

I've been working on my design for next month over the past few days, so I hope to not have a big lag before posting in April. I like what I've come up with so far! I wish, though, that someone would do a CD with all the Image composer tips and tricks that I read in the Microsoft newsgroup for that product. It's really powerful and can do a lot, but sometimes I want to follow the recipes and step-by-step instructions pages from Demetrius, Ulysses and Dominique without being online. I'll have to remember to download those pages myself, I guess.
