One year ago: Foolery

A year ago I had lunch with X, whom I dated a few times after that. But life took him a different direction, I guess -- fair enough! But I wish that when he'd decided that we weren't suitable for each other, he'd stopped contacting me. Instead he kept e-mailing me for a long time after our last face to face encounter, which kept me from realizing that it had been our last! This really wasn't doing me any favors. I don't know if he truly thought that at some point he'd be ready to actually date me, or if he lost interest but didn't know how to not email or answer email.

My sister B--- is here from Delaware, along with her younger son. This is an extended long weekend, and a last-minute decision for her. At first I thought I'd need to take off this afternoon and pick her up at the airport, but my other sister M---- remembered that the previous commitment that would have prevented her from doing this was on Wednesday, not today.

So I went over to M----'s house straight from work to see them all. What fun! When we sisters are together, we laugh and laugh -- it reminds me of my mother and her sisters together. B---- was asleep early, though. It's always tough for her to switch to a west coast schedule; she usually doesn't try.

This weekend will be a busy one! Jack and I will spend time together at Norwescon. Until he found out where his runaway daughter was, he wasn't going to attend at all. Now I'll be using the membership he bought for her. Strange to think that I attended last year with Jason, who had broken up with me a month before that, and we probably went to a panel that Jack was volunteering on! I also have some swing dancing to do, and Easter, and...
