One year ago: Glassdog
A year ago I was filling out my taxes. I don't know if I'll do the same tonight, or work on it tomorrow during lunch. It won't take long, and I even have all the papers together already! So I went to dance class this evening, but I didn't go on to the Washington Dance Club afterwards. I knew if I did that, my taxes would have zero chance of getting done tonight.
I am feeling like I want to move to the next level of dance class next session. We devoted about seventy five percent of class tonight to reviewing what we learned last week! I tried to concentrate on doing the steps perfectly, or on really connecting with the leads, but some of them were struggling so hard that this was difficult. The steps being taught are ones I've long been familiar with, and the large size of the class means there isn't time for going over things in great depth. But the next level might be too difficult! Maybe I should try taking class at a different studio. I still had a good time, and I like it that my friend Jon Newman is in class with me.

My friend Andy Hooper has a job as the "Channel Manager" for the toy collecting microchannel at CollectingChannel.com. Who could have predicted the level of specialization possible in a commercial website? The rise of the online auction sites is driving these auxiliary sites, I think. The good part for us is that he now is writing lots of articles about fun toys! It's a lot of work for him, though. I've been enjoying reading the daily updates!
I'm sure he was disappointed at the results of the recent DUFF race. That's the Down Under Fan Fund, which would have sent him on a trip to Australia if he had won. He said that he would no longer be involved in that sort of fannish activities for a while. In the past he has hosted traveling delagates, auctioned items to raise money, and so on. No more!
