Potlatch MeetingThe grand Perhaps! We look on helplessly, Sunday, April 18, 1999
Don't miss Friday and Saturday, wherein I recall last fall and help to pack up a teenage girl's possesions.
I took off from Jack's place this morning, wearing a borrowed t-shirt. (I didn't bring a bag with me, since I didn't know Friday afternoon that I'd be heading right over there.) I had a committee meeting for next year's Potlatch to go to, but I was a bit early! So I stopped at the Wallingford Center (an old elementary school converted to a very pleasant shopping center and elder housing) and walked around the shops. I didn't know that Yazdi (sp?) had opened up a large-size branch across the hall! I like their fabrics and colors, but I need to look when I have more time to find some dresses and skirts that are short enough, and not so drapey and new-agey. The meeting was good! We (meaning, not me!) will need to coordinate carefully with the Corflu committee, which is a different small convention aimed at fanzine fans. The next meeting will be the first weekend in May, but I've now remembered that I'm signed up for a dance workshop those days. I'll be able to email the written stuff I'm responsible for, so that's ok.
Wally's been doing laundry, and I did some this afternoon as well. I only got two loads done, though. I wish we had more washing machines in the building, just to make the process quicker! Event Horizon makes a list of things that are worrying her, which helps her come up with ways of handling some of those problems. My biggest concern right now isn't a problem for me to solve; it's a situation where I must wait to see what happens. The assignment that Jack was going to start last week disappeared on him, so the job in Bellingham (over an hour to the North) is a possibility again. He also has another job to interview for on Wednesday. He's already said that he'll give notice on the house where he is living. One way or another, he'll live somewhere else after May. |
