One year ago: Journalers Lunch
Two years ago: The Sleepers and the Shadows
I was so tired yesterday evening, that I went to bed at about eleven! But the coughing (my coughing!) woke me up in the middle of the night. A few nights ago I had one of those dreams about my teeth falling out, which is not uncommon as a dream subject. I just took it in stride as they kept breaking off like chalk. I liked a recent dream about my mother better, but of course I can't recall what exactly made it a good dream.
Jack and I will be going to a new science fiction convention this weekend. Foolscap is a small convention about "flat" media. By that, they mean fiction and graphic novels and comics. I guess they don't include gaming minatures! Octavia Butler will be one of the guests. I really liked the books I've read by her, especially the Xenogenesis series.
I still feel guilty that I declined doing any committee work on the con, but doing anything during the film festival would have been impossible!

We are still having problems at work. The new tool that we moved to a while back (at the same time that the two developers on our team went off to different groups) has given us problems consistently. I'm sure these two things are connected. I got the news today that we will be shifting back to our old build tool. It's all very frustrating and aggravating for the team.
In other work news, the cleaning crew is helping themselves a bit too freely to the candy dish on my desk. I don't mind if they munch on the candy as they go by, like everyone else does. That's why it's there! But if I come back and the bowl, full the night before, is now empty, I get a bit irked. I'm thinking of putting the bowl away every afternoon when I leave!

I finally unsubscribed from the Metajournals staff mailing list. I haven't done anything after the first issue. Why didn't I? I didn't warm to the html advice person role, which I don't think belonged in a journals zine. There are a ton of places on the net for HTML resources, and I can't think of any tech issues that are specific to journal sites. There were personality conflicts that made the project no fun to work on, though I'll bet the persons I had the conflicts with were unaware of it! I'll admit to not stepping up and doing anything when the people that were driving forces got too busy to keep the site active.
It's still a valuable site, and I hope the new/old team has a success with it.

I just got back from the Washington Dance Club, which I've been talking up in the Interns Swing Dance folder at work. I didn't see any interns there, though! It was great to be back dancing, and to see all the dance buddies I've been missing. Lots of them were away at Catalina dance camp this last weekend, and San Francisco (for Frankie Manning's 85th birthday) the week before that. So I danced non-stop for over two hours, checkin out their new Catalina stuff. What fun!
