I've been wanting to use the candy images from my big CD-ROM image collection, so that's what I went with this month. There are so many that I like! The side border reminds me of the designs that Karma of Pick It Up and Shake It does. I used a demo of a drawing program to do my handwriting for the title and navigation. It's so expensive! Or was, when I downloaded it, that I (ashamed to say it) defeated the fact that you can't save in the demo by screen-capturing.
I didn't go dancing tonight, but worked on the journal design, and did some decluttering stuff. Jack was in Olympia today, at a truancy hearing for his older daughter. When I talked to him on the phone, he was driving north to Bellingham again. His younger daughter will be staying with him for the next two weeks, so he proposed that the two of them should come down this Saturday, spend that night and Sunday night with me, and go back to B'ham on Monday. I was very pleased with this plan, of course! but we'll have to figure out the sleeping arrangements. I've got a twin bed, and a mattress on the living room floor, which is ok for two, but now we'll be three!
Today is the two-year anniversary of Elaine's Stagnant Underground. Good reading, but Elaine's going through a tough patch right now. I don't remember when I started reading her, but I have mail we exchanged from September of 97. I was telling her (in high school) that surely life would be better when she went to college. D'oh! But she didn't get to go away for college; she's still living with her parents. I'm sure that would have driven me quite mad at that age, though I ended up being their primary caregiver fifteen years later. I see I also pointed her to Daria -- she implied she'd never heard of it! |
