Let us speak, though we show all our faults and weaknesses, -- for it is a sign of strength to be weak, to know it, and out with it, -- not in a set way and ostentatiously, though, but incidentally and without premeditation.

At last we have posted the new look and feel at StockCharts.com! It kept being delayed, which was frustrating. I contributed by writing glossary definitions, and conferring with the content director over naming conventions for page titles. We need to be consistent with those, for a better user experience. Even if you aren't an investor yet, the java applets on the site are fun to play with. Check it out, and send us feedback!

I bought a font, as a souvenir of the Impressionism art exhibit that Jack and I saw last Sunday, and used it as the basis of this new design. The font set, from P22 Type Foundry, is based on the handwriting of Cézanne, and includes a dingbat font of Cézanne sketches. That's where the two fabulous babes come from!

I used Microsoft Image Composer to create the images. I like how the two women and the envelope and "home" sign all chime together! It was rather serendipitious; turning the "home" part into a sign was a last-minute addition.

The author of Event Horizon was talking about her slightly crooked smile, which made me write to her:

Your weird smile made me think of my speech impediment, the one I didn't realize I had until I went to a career counselor in the mid-eighties.

"Do you think it's your speech impediment that has made you reluctant to leave your dead-end job?" (I was in a rut in a dead-end job; that's why I was seeing the counselor.)

"Speech impediment?! I didn't know I had one!"

And I still don't think there's any audible flaw in my speech, or if there is, it's only the slightest slurring (and try saying that three times fast!).
