Down the StairsAll truly great thoughts are conceived by walking.

Jack has finally signed up with epinions.com. Yes, I nagged him into it! But I hope he'll have fun with it; I know I do! Have I bugged you into joining yet?
This afternoon we were having some network problems. The reliability of the net connection in this building is terrible! We hope it will be better in our new offices; we're moving in November. Coworker Kat and I were the only ones in the office, and were sort of blocked by the outage. She suggested that we take a break, and try to get up on the roof deck of the highrise, since we are already only one floor from the top. I was up for that! I suggested we ask our receptionist where we should go. (We are in short-term offices that share a receptionist and other facilities.) But Kat wanted to explore! So instead of going up the Beverly Hillbillies-style staircase in the main lobby, we went into the staircase out in the hall. Oops! The door one floor above us was locked -- we couldn't get out that way. Of course, the door to our own floor was locked, too! There was nothing to be done but head down. Kat felt terrible about it, but we both giggled and laughed all the way down -- twenty four floors! We speculated about the security guards in the lobby (nicely dressed in sport coats, not guard uniforms) watching us on a security camera and making fun of us, but there wasn't a visible camera. We were dumped out in a long, cement-block hallway on the first level of the garage. We then made our way to the street, and walked in through the lobby, acting calm and cool. Nothing to see here, folks! Just move along! My legs felt a bit shaky after all that, and I'm sure I'll be sore tomorrow, just from the repetitive motion. (The actual exertion wasn't so bad.) Now I have something to tease Kat about, and hold over her head, for the forseeable future!
My first major article has been posted at Stockcharts.com! This is the first of many, I'm sure. We'll be covering the basics of technical analysis (including what technical analysis is, in this context) and posting more advanced articles, also. Please let us know if you find what I'm doing informative or useful. I'm even more eager for any problems or questions about the site. |
