One Gone

I have yet to hear a man ask for advice on how to combine marriage and a career.

A tense situation at work last week was resolved this morning. K--- decided that she didn't want to stay on as content director. I was surprised! I knew that she and our boss were having difficulty communicating, but I didn't expect that she'd turn in her letter of resignation today. What a shame! Chip made sure that business manager Kellie and I weren't worried that we'd be out, too.

I know that K--- was unhappy with the long hours she'd been working, and she has an elementary school child that she didn't get to see enough of. I hope her next thing works out better. But the fate of the redesign she'd been working on? Still in doubt.

Chip decided that a team bowling outing would be a good thing. I rode over to Sun Lanes with Kellie, and Chip's wife Sallie and four-year-old son Eric joined us. I think the last time I've been bowling was this summer, another team outing at my former job. We asked them to extend the bumpers so that Eric wouldn't be rolling gutterballs every time. He loves bowling! Knocking down the pins was very exciting for him. I broke one hundred (barely).

Back at work, I successfully compiled our point and figure applet, created a jar file, and found the places in the code that need to change to fix a slight bug. Chip told me what to look for. He'll figure out how to change the code -- that's a bit beyond me yet.

Jack said I should download Zope, so I did. I haven't installed it, yet. I'll play with it later tonight.
