I got some nice mail today, from June Thomas, late of "You Say Tomato." She thanked me for a year of fine journaling, which was very gratifying. I was shocked, though, when she revealed that mine is now the only journal she reads regularly! I can't imagine stopping reading my favorite journals, and I read a goodly number of them.
She did set a good example to me, though. I think I'll send mail to some of the journals I enjoy reading, thanking them for keeping on.

I expressed a wish to stay home from work tomorrow. I have vacation time that doesn't carry over to the next year, and I could use the time to prepare for Jack and his daughter staying over. Chip went along with this, but M--- joked that he should make me do the arranging for DSL internet access at home before agreeing.
Chip didn't make a big deal, but I did force myself to fill out the forms at the phone company website, and the new ISP service I'll be adding. (I'll continue my current service for a while, at least.) My reluctance to get this taken care of wasn't because of money; it's just my dislike of calling people on the phone and difficulty in making decisions. Finally I just picked the service level. The company will be reimbursing me. This will make it easier to do some work from home, too! So in mid-January I should be getting DSL super-speedy connectivity!
I stopped at Lane Bryant, at the Redmond Town Center, and bought some cool clothing (and on sale!) to wear tomorrow night: a black velour top with a sweetheart neckline, and a forest-green skirt with a hem that's been punched out into a lace-like pattern.

I watched TV, then collapsed into bed early.
