One year ago: Catch Up
Two years ago: Hungry Again

M--- was in this morning, getting his things. I shook hands with him on my way out (to the optometrist, again!), and wished him good luck. He said, "I wish I'd been able to adopt your blasé attitude." I didn't quite know what to reply, since I certainly don't think of myself that way.

I was glad to get my regular contact lenses back, although I'm spoiled by the comfort of the soft lenses. I don't think they have enough corrective power for my astigmatism, and it would be a hassle to deal with replacing them more often, so I'll stick to what I have. I am glad I got the reworking done. My vision is better now, I swear -- less blurriness.

I got lunch from Taco Time and brought it back to the office. I do like that food (got it last night, also). Chicken soft taco, yeah!

My work site has entered into a new advertising thing with About.com, which meant we had to make some slight adjustments -- to every freaking page on the site! We got the final code this afternoon, so I started searching and replacing with a vengeance. It all worked out ok. I'm responsible for the new logo image, too, which adapts our name to the new longer, lower shape.

Traffic was still bad after this was done, so Chip suggested I come by his house (he had his young son with him) and hang out and watch tv. (I think this might have been partly because my two co-workers had each been over there for dinner recently. Kellie is there often, because she's a good friend of Chip's wife; Arthur is only in the country for a few more weeks so he and Chip have a lot to discuss.)

I helped myself to some chicken from the refrigerator, then we sat down and watched an episode of "From the Earth to the Moon." Wow! I really liked it! Chip has it on DVD, and will lend it to me when Jack gets his DVD drive installed in the computer and hooked up to his TV. It's just the sort of thing Jack would like, I think! We watched the episode about Apollo 7, which was the first Apollo mission to actually take off, after the fire that killed the astronauts of Apollo 1.

Great cast, good directing (each episode has a different director), production appears authentic. Anything Tom Hanks is involved in is good, I think!
