My Dinner with Jane
Good manners are made up of petty sacrifices.

I'm bothered recently by my own pettiness. I see links that I used in previous months showing up on other weblogs, then that person gets picked up and linked to! I must let go of this -- think abundance, there's lots of stuff on the web, no one is neglecting me on purpose...
Jane Hawkins and I are working together on the hospitality suite at Potlatch 9, so we had a dinner meeting tonight. Ian, the con chair, was there when I arrived, but he didn't stick around long.
Jane roasted a very nice chicken (free range, she told me) and served up some rice and veggies with it. We developed long lists of drinks, foods, sweets, supplies, toys, badge-decorating supplies, and kitchen equipment that we'll need. I was surprised to find that Jane was thinking of this as a joint thing, but not displeased. I'd just assumed that she was doing the hospitality suite, and I was taking care of the toys and games.
Jane also shared with me about someone she used to be involved with, who will be at Potlatch and Corflu. I knew some of the story, but I didn't know about all the stuff that's gone on in the past few years. I'm glad she filled me in, so I won't be totally clueless when I see this guy around. I was never fond of him in the first place, of course!

I realized it had been a long time since I did a right-hand border design. I wanted to do something sweet and pretty, so I snipped a bunch of roses from my CD-ROM archive of images, and created a tile image. The fonts are Brittanic Bold, and Chank's funny Sundayluck.
