The freedom to make a fortune on the Stock Exchange has been made to sound more alluring than freedom of speech.

I went to sleep at 8:30 on Monday night! I must have needed it. I left the computer on (half-thinking that I was only lying down for a nap, I suppose) and heard the little noise it makes when it downloads mail from time to time. I don't mind waking up slightly during the night, because it's so nice to be able to roll over and go back to sleep!

There's been some talk about knee chairs on the Seattle Webgrrls list. I've used mine since 1994. It's worth spending money to get yourself something good since your cost per use will be small, and the benefit long-lasting. I'm a fan of the knee chairs -- it puts my pelvis at the correct angle, and there's lots of different ways to arrange my legs and wiggle around. I even convinced coworker Kellie to get one also, when we chose furniture for our new offices here (pictures of the new office). Chip didn't mind at all, since the HAG balans chairs were about half the cost of the Aero he got himself.

Chip was excited about the market action today -- Microsoft and the Nasdaq took a big dip, but were back on their way up by the end of the day. "A true selling climax!" he exclaimed. Apparently it's a bullish sign (oo, stock market jargon!).
