The mere process of growing old together will make the slightest acquaintance seem a bosom friend.

One year ago: Potlatch Meeting
Two years ago: Talking

Two years ago I met my journal-friend Bluejack-Burr-Carl face to face. He was visiting Seattle then, and moved here shortly after. We've met from time to time since then, but I'm sorry to say I haven't seen him recently, and he seems to have lost interest in doing personal web stuff. Perhaps his professional web work took up that energy?

A year ago at this time, Jack was in the throes of dealing with his daughter A----. She's still on the run, after coming home and running away again multiple times.

I enjoy the email I get in response to my weblog. I specifically ask for email there, since I don't have any other way to know if anyone is reading. One person picked up on the fact that I'm using an Easter-egg color scheme there right now.

I was pleased and amused that my sister M---- and her boys took advantage of my tip about free cones from Ben and Jerry's today. They stopped off at the store on Broadway.

Did you ever read Tell Me a Story about the Devil? Jon Konrath had taken his journal down, but he's back on the air now, from New York. And that's after an eight-month hiatus! A lesson that we should never delete old bookmarks? He characteristically ends the first entry of this new effort: "I guess that's it for now. I need to get back to work on the book..."

I'm starting to get psyched for this year's film festival. My friend Tom Lawrence wrote to tell me that he's going to come to some of the movies. I encouraged him to buy a pass, rather than wait and pick out individual films -- a difficult task!
