Two years ago: Blast From the Past

Two years ago, I looked up my high school boyfriend on the web. We are both working with computers now, which was the furthest thing from our minds twenty five years ago! I asked him then if I could link him here, and I was surprised when he asked me not to, since I'd found him through a publicly accessible web page. I think the whole online journal thing was hard for him to wrap his mind around. The whole thing made me feel like my hand had been slapped, though, which is never pleasant. (Me, sensitive? Me?)

There'd been many changes at work over the three-day weekend. Chip is supposed to be off on Mondays, but he came in to work (to give himself a special treat, I think!). He was really happy that a new server had been delivered, which necessitates many hours of moving shares around, adjusting our build processes, and so on.

Oof! I took a nap when I came home from work, then felt ill for the next few hours. What a relief when the feeling passed! There's nothing like feeling sick to help one appreciate feeling normal. I never did actually throw up, which seemed possible at some points in the evening. I drank one of those sobe juice things to avoid dehydration.

My film friend Doug "Lowell" Ing wrote and told me that a short film of his has been posted at ifilm.com. It's a documentary, a profile of Seattle Bookseller David Ishii. It's a charming piece! And viewing these short, oddball movies over the net is a cool concept. Doug told me that if he gets enough views, his movie can stay on the site longer, so check it out, please.
