One year ago: Log Cabin
Two years ago: Teamwork
A year ago, Jack let me know for sure that he'd be moving to Bellingham, and he'd be starting that new job the very next week! I cried when he told me, and cried again later in the evening. But this year has worked out well, I think, with me going to see him or him coming to see me almost every week. And Bellingham is a good place for him, with very little traffic, and it's close to the woods and all. His only problem up there (besides the distance from me, of course) is that his place doesn't have room for all of his stuff -- that is, all his very important possessions, books, motors, guitars...

The excitement at work this morning? Bringing in the supplies from Costco. We are like pigs in clover, with soda in the fridge, chips and cookies in the cabinet, and peppermint patties in the bowl on the conference table. It reminded me of when I was a kid, helping my mom bring the groceries in from the car, since all hands were needed to get it all inside.
We've been going out for lunch as a group on Wednesdays. This time we went to Big Time Pizza, in "downtown" Redmond. They are in a cool old building. Chip told us how he'd tried to rent space in the second floor -- it would have been the Redmond equivalent of a cool Pioneer Square office, but much better for Chip's commute.
We talked about science stuff. I described some of the panels at Norwescon. Pete told us about some of the "tests to destruction" he was involved with on the Boeing planes he worked on. I didn't know that when testing a new kind of airplane, they bend the wings down (or back?) until they break!
I'm continuing to put an hour a day in on the Company names table in our database. Thank heavens that my job doesn't consist entirely of such work, but it's the type of task where I go into a trance and work my way down the screen.
