Editing a Newszine

What I have crossed out I didn't like. What I haven't crossed out I'm dissatisfied with.

I chatted with a neighbor (whom I'd never seen before) at the bus stop this morning. She told me a worrisome story about a creepy guy hanging around her apartment building. Mostly I feel safe around here. The most scary guy is the one who lives below me, so no point worrying!

The new SharpCharts Voyeur page at StockCharts.com is a big hit! It's oddly fascinating to see the charts roll by, just like those search engine voyeur pages are compelling.

I handled the bad addresses from the mailing list for the first time. "Handling" consists of deleting the bounced names from a text file, so it wasn't too stressful.

I was drowsy enough on the bus home to actually snooze for part of the way. It was pleasantly warm and breezy; who wouldn't sleep? When I got off the number 11, I exclaimed to myself: "oo! I can get food from taco time!" I just really like their food. Where else can you get such good tater tots, excuse me, I mean mexi-fries?

I got caught up on journals tonight. I knew that Lucy had been discussing the pay/donate for journals thing in her forum, but I didn't know that she'd written an entry about it, too. She's very frank about how this topic makes her feel bad. I don't share all her issues, but I do understand them, except the part about being conflicted about "selling" -- I've not had parallel experiences with her losing interest in art.

I think what I don't want to do, is think about how many folks are reading other people (and not reading me, too). And the discussions about donating and click-throughs are all about that. It just brings it home, forces it into my face! and I don't like that.

I've volunteered to do the daily news zine at Swingout Northwest, the dance camp I'll be attending at the next holidays. At first Karen, the administrator for Savoy Swing club, didn't quite understand what I had in mind. She thought we'd only need to print out a few copies. But actually, this will the equivalent of a con's daily news zine. We won't need to print enough for the entire membership, but we should do a stack for each issue, and we should do an issue every day.
