One year ago: Lindy Hop Heaven
Two years ago: Pajama Party
Something that really pleased me when I woke up this morning -- Jack, as soon as he could stagger, walked over to the kitchen window and draped a towel over it. That window is curtainless, with just a valance over the top that was there when he moved in. I don't mind sleeping on the futon, with Jack in the recliner. I don't mind that folks could peek in the window, most of the time. But if anything of a private nature is happening in the living room, I'd rather not worry about neighbors or passersby (or the junior-high kid who lives two houses away) just happening to look in. I'm funny that way!
So I appreciated Jack covering that window, unprompted by me. We got a chance to use some of the massage oil I'd bought before our trip to Whidbey Island.

We decided to go get some food before I took off for home. I drove over to Fairhaven, the "olde towne" section of Bellingham. But the first place we went had a wait, and Jack was irritated by how they conveyed this information to us. Boom, we were out the door; the waitress was taken aback. The second place had a wait, also. I think the nice weather put folks in the mood to go out to brunch.
Jack was about ready to turn around, go home, and make some food himself. I wonder if low blood sugar was making him irritable? But we tried one more place, the hidden cafe that has some tables in an alley. We could sit outside! We were seated, and Jack got some coffee, which helped matters.
It ended up being a nice meal! I had beef stroganoff, and Jack had a sandwich. We split some bread pudding, with whisky sauce. I dropped Jack back at his place, and drove south.
It was really a good weekend! I like working with Jack on projects like his halloween costume, and we did fun things together also.

One reason I decided to come back home on Sunday, instead of waiting until Monday morning: the Century Ballroom has moved one of their swing dance nights from Monday to Sunday, and I hadn't been there yet. It was a good night of dancing for me -- not too much sitting out. I hadn't realised it was supposed to be a Halloween dance! There were only a few people in costumes there. Hep Jen, who was DJing, told me that the bathing cap she was wearing was vintage! But I'd have thought it would be uncomfortable to wear it all night.
Jen broke out all the "spooky" swing music. There are swing tunes for all occasions, you know.
