Home Again

Driving is a spectacular form of amnesia. Everything is to be discovered, everything to be obliterated.

I'd agreed to take Jack to his work this morning, because he'd dropped his car off to be repaired on Saturday. But when I tried to wake him at a quarter to five, he declined to get up! He decided that he needed to sleep more, and would take the bus to work, later.

So I left a bit earlier than I would have otherwise. I do like that early morning drive -- few other pesky cars out there to bug me. The road is mine! I can turn on the cruise control and enjoy myself. I made good time, and got to work by six thirty, including a stop at McDonalds drive thru for a steak bagel.

My plan to shower at work was foiled, though -- I'd left my soap and shampoo in Jack's shower. Phooey! So my coworkers were treated to the sight of my greasy head.

I took a hot, fragrant bath when I got home, preparing to go dancing in the evening. I had a grand time at the Greenwood dance! I met Michael, who was visiting from Boston, and enjoyed dancing with him. I recommended him as a partner to several other follows. I asked him about the Swingin' Speakeasy, a Boston-based discussion group that I follow, but he said (imagine!) that after being on the computer all day at work, he didn't enjoy using it in his free time.
