Stopping By

Her great merit is finding out mine -- there is nothing so amiable as discernment.

Two years ago: Craft Fair
Three years ago: Grand and Griefless

I needed to stock up the company freezer with food that I can eat at lunch, so I went to the QFC on my way to work. It was already getting very busy, at six forty five in the morning! People take their Thanksgiving-related grocery shopping seriously. I'm unable to shop there without buying a box of Cinnabon. The other folks at the office are very good about partaking of these.

Jack called around six o'clock to say he was just leaving. Luckily, I hadn't planned anything fancy for dinner, just some pepper salami that I intended to frizzle in a pan, then combine with pasta and parmesan. At first I thought I'd go ahead and eat, then I changed my mind (and didn't get around to cooking), so we ate it after he arrived. Jack brought me Dryer's Lemonade popsicles from the freezer, in return.

Jack is very fond of Law and Order. I just don't see the attraction! There are some good character actors, but the emphasis is ninety nine percent on the case of the week, so the regular cast doesn't ever have much to do. Give me Homicide, please! But I didn't even watch that one regularly when it was on. I don't want to watch TV that often. (Plus, I'd rather go to bed earlier than we do.)

Two years ago I bought my nice black leather dance bag, a good burn-out silk chiffon skirt that I wear often, and some of my favorite earrings. That was a worthwile day! They've probably already held that craft fair this year. I'd be in the market for a black leather tote bag; the Powells books bag I have is worn out, though I still carry it.
